It's sad that Surf left but he should have just humped up & forgotten all about what ever was said. We don't all agree on topics or what another 1 says, in life you just can't run away from confortation. Don't get me wrong I would like to see Surf return, to me he contributed a lot to the site.

I'm no longer in lurk mode and am all set to get on the ice. I've got a lot of fishing to do to make up for last year, I think I only got out a dozen times last season. To all you in the rochester area, would anyone be up for a get together this year to celebrate the ice season?

It's the drama and controversy that takes the fun out of it. Surf was having a blast. Had something like 10,000 posts. Up there with Mainehazmat. He also knew a whole bunch of stuff about ice fishing that I wanted to learn.

Of course I will not go into total lurker mode. I will give ice conditions and advice on gear. I'm still a novice at catching fish. It wouldn't be right to just take from the site and not give anything back.

2X I had a blast there last year we went from no ice to 15" of it.
I took the wheeler up and ended up unloading it and driving the truck out it make moving around real easy.
I didn't like the 2 tanks of gas it took to do it but what are you gonna do.
This year I'd like to check out perch lake if I have to drive north.

Stopped at my grandfathers house this morning and he told me how he and his cat caught a mouse yesterday in cellar. He then told me this early in season means gonna be a harsh winter !!! He's 78 im gonna hope he's right.

After a 5 year hiatus,I am back! Have been building up my arsenal after getting rid of my old stuff when i was in the Army...still need an auger and a couple tip ups, but I'm working on those. Looking forward to a great season!!!
