I think ol, lake cascade is done for the year, the way the weather has been going and what Tom has been saying on facebook, plus neil went up thurs. I think and said its getting very sketchy.....

Matt you should be banned for posting things like that...LOL. Low 20's to teens tonight so I had the fingers crossed for the ice to get firm for a day or two so I could go Monday or Tuesday.

your pushing it, when things start too thaw and refreeze it tends too be not very strong..... plus obviously the lake turned if the edges are melting that mean's the black good layer of ice is probably gone.... but too each his own.....

Any chance is it still pretty solid away from shore? I have heard you can use planks to get to good ice.

masterson, is it still fishable without a 4 wheeler? or is it getting fairly sketchy?

fished saturday. Not by the island.... Ice was still in really good shape and the fish are still hungry. North Fork payette is 4000 cfs...a lot of warmer water moving under the ice. I would say next weekend will be it. \
Little side note/question...fished old holes on saturday some of them were upwards of 18" due to surface water melt and run-off. Is that illegal? It made hole hoping and landing fish really easy.

Perfectly legal....unless you were spear fishing lol.....the area by the dam must be toast or close to it?? Anyone fished by boulder creek state park area?? Thanks for the update woodland.
