Last days of the year
« on: Mar 15, 2012, 07:24 AM »
Well, I wanted to end the season with the weekend but it looks like the wind is going to ruin that. I am going to spend the time instead cleaning and putting everthing up nice and neat for next year, sucks as I sold my boat this winter and not looking forward to the many days ahead of open water. I guess gardening is going to have to do this year, maybe will have a boat by next season. Hope everyone fished as much as they could any time fishing is good.

It was not a stellar ice year by any means. I never did get out again this year, everytime I wanted to fish things conspired against me! Oh well! Next year will be better and I am saving up for a power auger! Enjoy the gardening and keep those deer away  ;)

I managed to scratch one of the best seasons ever out of the heat wave that was winter in Montana this year. First hole drilled was December 7, last hole drilled march 12, fished quite a few new lakes, the down side...I spent a pretty large amount of money, between new equipment and travel. Oh well, all in the name of fun!

I just tried ice fishing for the first time this winter, how long does the season normally last?

The season typically goes into March, then the Ice gets pretty "Iffy"
I'm sure you can still fish georgetown lake.

G'Town closed April 1st - Reopens in mid May for general season, except for area closed for spawning & it opens July 1st -
