Need a Mosquito Lake Report

Has anyone fished Mosquito lately--looking for an ice report and fishing report

 As of 2/26/05 I heard there was 5-6" and a bit of a crappie bite. Can anyone confirm ice?

Yeah Guys, I was there Sun. 2/27, and can confirm that the ice was a good 6-8" but the fishing was as dead as a hammer! I fished up north of the causeway in about 7-9 fow with not so much as a bite.  Packed up things and went down by the cemetery with the same results( I did see of couple of lookers on the "Vex"). The only people I saw on the ice were down near the southeast end right by the park (about 20 or so) and I didn't venture out to where they were to get a report. There were 2 more guys about a mile or so out further from me (more west) don't know how they did.

Fished 3/05/05 South end near dam, a few small crappie and a suprising 5lb largemouth to make the day interesting. Ice was at least 8", good shape

if anyone gets out to the lake let me know how the ice is after the recent warm spell and rain you got. looking to visit the folks this weekend and want to know if i should bring my gear along. got to do some school work but want to get out for a few and try for some crappie and eyes. any info would be appreciated. this ohio forum died along with the end of erie , huh?

check the www.ohiogamefishing.co m board. The causeway crew from the baitshop on 88 gives reports there.

Have been fishing Mosquito with little success. Can catch some crappies but the Walleye bite is TERRIBLE.As of today there is still 4-6inches of ice in most areas but there is some open water in others.The dam,305,and the cemetary will still good. North of the cemetary is risky.
