i let some air out of the tires first. then i intalled them as tight as i could by hand and then re-inflated. i used a bungee cord to tighten the outside slack. used one long cord and made a star like pattern.

i also push alot of air out and get them on tight that way then when you pump up the tires they are nice and snug and no need for bungee cords.

have any of you ever used chains on tires with large aggressive lugs? I have a set of mud tires on my saki and chains would be nice but not sure of they will work with that aggressive of a tire...

here is a pic of my atv. You can see the tires and how aggressive they are. The lugs are pretty deep. Will chains work on these? or can i just stud them with screws?

Hey Lund I use chains on my super swmpers but I went with the 2 bar spacing. Do like they suggest above with the air. Good to go. I only run em on back as I have seen people tear up their front ends running em on front. I just stud the front. P.S. like the MO

I let air out then put on and fill tire back up but put a bungee just in case one goes soft. When I had them on my mud tires 1.25 lug the v bars would fall down in the gaps on most lugs so didn't help much went back to the stock .75 lugs much better
Just enjoying life

I bought a set of 265/75/16 pickup chains and just shortened them for my 28/12-12 rear Blackwater XT's and they fit perfect. Mine have 1" lugs and the V-bars just stick up past them. For the front I studded them with Gold Screws, 5 screws per "lug".

Good old fashioned bungee cords work great on my quad, and truck:
