Dropshot

Ok, I am sick of dropping minnows down 100 feet to put them on the bottom for lakers.
Has anyone used a dropshot like rig with a heavy bell sinker and the bait up a foot on a dropper?
Sounds like it would work, any comments? :)
Maybe I'll stop using tipups since I'm getting a NEW VEX! ;D

i was actually planning on trying it saturday, but i forgot - i am sure it will work with a little tweaking.

try a slider rig ,works great gets the bait down quick with a one ounce ,you can make you own with a swivel placed above your barrel above your leader works best with dead bait ,but can be used with live . fish takes line and doesnt feel weight until,you set hook!
