fishing from port bolster with a buddy on lake simcoe yesterday. at about 5pm a school of these silver fish show up about 20 of them 10 feet down. i immediatly reeled my line up to them. i was using a swedish pimple green prizm, one twitch and bam it on. my buddy did the same lost his minnow that was on his hook immediatly after the fish seen it he gets one. it was like this for about 10 min. when the school moved out and the last one caught i flagged a guy down on 4 wheeler to see what it was. turned out to be a ciscoe. first one ever and these things are fun to catch. here is the best pic i could muster up without hurting the fish. hope i can run into these tthings again for the excitement.

Also known as Herring. I hope you put them all back.  No open season, all must be released. Last time out I got a beauty about 14" or so, faught like a champ.

That pretty wild.  Read about them but never seen one.  Wonder if the ministry has introduced them? Are they good eating?
