Berkley sells the Odor Shark.  It's a small bar of stainless steel that u use like soap under cold running water.  Works well.  I'm a chef of 30 yrs and I've found that if I rub my hands on the sides of a stainless steel sink or use a ss spoon or other utensil, I can rid smells that soap and water won't budge.  Don't know how it works but it does.  BTW, beware lemon juice on chapped hands-ouch.

Fish smell ???  I never noticed ;D

The stainless bars work wonders for any natural odor on your hands.

Any abrasive hand cleaner like Fast Orange will work... but the best thing is tooth paste, leaves your hands smelling minty fresh afterwards too!

While driving home from an awesome day of fishing in our new boat, this is what my 9 year old asks...

Son: "Dad, do I need to wash my hands when I get home?"
Me: "Ummm....yes son.  Why do you ask?"
Son: "Because my hands smell like fish and I want to remember what an awesome day we had."

I gotta admit, I got a little misty eyed.

Sorry for Hijacking the thread...but I just felt like sharing.

Cheers,

Just soap and water and what lingers doesnt bother anyone.  Now,......when I'm in my shop mounting fish......soap and water and with a splash of vanilla.

I usually just use soap and water, but last year I was single and living at home, this year I have a girlfriend and living with her and haven't cleaned fish yet, so I imagine there'll be a bit more to it than last year getting rid of the smell... ;D

I second that stainless bar. I  never would have bought one alone, but the one I have came free with a filet knife I purchased and it has me convinced.  It's called the wonder bar, and it works really well rubbing it between your hands under cold water. It won.t work under your fingernails if you use them as a scaler though.

Guaranteed to work -
Just a little dishsoap straight from the bottle, sprinkle  five or six shakes of table salt in it, start to work it in a few times, while working in hold your hands under the running warm water for just a quick second, continue to work in until all the salt has dissolved and rinse completely. Smell is completely gone!
This also works right after peeling & chopping onions and many other things that leave lingering odor.

Use salt only, sprinkle on wet hands rub with water.  Better not have any cuts or you will find out right away, but gets rid of smell.

Just rinse the slime off in your fishing hole and rub a drop of anise extract on em.  You'll never smell the fish...
