Circle Hooks and Minnows
« on: Feb 02, 2012, 03:45 PM »
Hey all, I'm from Eastern Ontario, and new to ice fishing and this board. I've always done well with circle hooks and live bait summer fishing, mainly for panfish, but I've been targeting splake and lakers on the ice and was wondering if anyone else here has any experience or tips. I'm wondering the best way to hook a live minnow, 3" - 4" long, and best size of hook. I've been using # 4 and 6 Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp hooks. Thanks!

i personally use treble hooks, but you can definately use circle hooks, just remember you dont need a hard hook set with them, instead just keep pressure on the line and let the circle hook do its work!
