I fished there Sunday and there was about 4 inches on the bay.
A day without fishing is a day wasted.

Would it be worth trying from the piers, if the ice is not safe?   Anyone ever try it thru the ice on the pier?

I did a few times this december when i needed bait for my trap line, i got several dinks and a 12" crappie, which i couldn't believe. That was the boat rental pier, 5FOW

Thanks bluegillmaster, I have fished the same pier in the fall with good results. Was just thinking of somewhere to get to deeper water without good ice.

Are you planning on trying it tomorrow? because with as much ice as the lakes around here have, potato creek has gotta have 4 inches. I know it had open water, when we were already getting on fish lake, but the sticks by the boat launch have to be safe.. it was froze over a week ago.
