Willow Slough
« on: Jan 17, 2012, 06:33 PM »
Hi all. New to the board today. I was wondering if Willow Slough was hit hard by the rain and warm Monday and Tuesday. How long will it take to be safe if temps stay the away they are. Thanks! I'm excited to be here!!

Thanks for the quick response. I appreciate it. I'm fairly new to ice fishing, only 4 years. Let's hope the cold stays a bit longer this time. Also is there a web cam that shows Willow Slough? I see there's one for Mille Lacs up in Minnesota. Thanks all.

Just called. They said 0-2 inches and open water in the front by the aerators and where the geese have been. Otherwise he said it looks very possible for the weekend. I'll probably check it Friday morning.

Caught 19 decent size gills and kept 10. Had 2 break offs most likiely a Bass. Ice was 3". Creepy feeling walking on ice that's flexing beneath your feet. Travel light!

Welcome to the shanty.  Highjacking is when someone makes a post off or away from the initial posters question or topic.  I am on occasion guilty of this myself, lol. ::)

Nope.  Put on your walking boots.  Not a bad drag on bare ice, but a real bear when there is snow and wind.

according to Nancy there is never any safe ice, no birds are every shot there, and all the boats have sunk.
