Anyone coming out to Honeoye today?

I had some gentleman stop in this morning and said they were going out today. They were down yesterday and measured almost 2'' of ice, but they had not been out to check it out as of yet today. If anyone does decide to venture out and check the ice today, make sure to stop by CNY Bait and Tackle on East Lake Road at Trident Marine!! Be safe, and bring a friend!!

Im only reporting what i was told. A good practice for everyone should be to not assume someone else's measurements are correct? Always check your ice, ice thickness for one person may not be considered safe to to the next guy. I will fish on 2.5" of black ice, but know guys who wont go out unless there is at least 5". I will try to get out today and check the ice thickness myself.

I measured only 2 inches at Sandy Bottom and the state launch earlier this morning.  Good black ice just and inch or so too little for me.

Also, as people get antsy to get back onto the ice later in the week, remember, there are several gas hole areas in the North end of Honeoye along the western side from Sandy Bottom.   Be CAREFUL and USE YOUR HEAD!

That I know of there are 3 people fishing including myself...ice is 3" max..good hard black stuff.  Don't wanna be too close to anyone and I still will not call it safe for anyone else....safe for me and my partner using all precautions.  Measure it yourself and make your own judgements--be safe!!  Thanks for the bait icerookie!!!

shore ice is shot...rest of the lake is spotty...thin ice small open patches...I really dont think its going to be safe this weekend...

Seen 4 guys go out today from Trident today. I stopped and talked to one of them and he said there was 3" of ice, and he caught 2 perch. Ice is looking promising for this weekend afterall.

I hear the fishing as been hit and miss this weekend..but the guys that have been catching them have been hammering them!! Monster perch, massive gills, walleye, crappie... Definitely good to meet a lot of you and see a bunch of guys out on the ice this weekend!! Good luck everyone!
