"Almost ""Dangnear", but "not Quite" safe Ice.

Took my trusty spud bar down to the pond edge this morning. After several hard chops, I thought better go back and get my auger. :-\  After getting it,I stepped out about 6 feet. The ice made a cracking sound.  :o  Drilled a hole and measured it with my spoon.( I have it marked every inch). Well the good news it that the ice is good and hard.  The bad news is, it was only 2 to 3 inches thick. :%$#!:  At 224 lbs, I didn't think I wanted a cold bath today.  Went back to house to report. Don't think I'm doing to get to use my new camera, before the warranty is up. If you go out be sure to check the ice before you get to far for the bank. Maybe in a day or so.We can do this. :icefish:
