X-67 set-up for l81 ice pack
« on: Jan 13, 2012, 03:08 PM »
Enclosed is my setup for the 181 ice pack combination. The transducer fits into the small box and it goes where the 2 trays were. Drilled a hole in bast and ran a long bolt from bottom up and locked with nut. Just slide arm hole over bolt and put on wing nut. Arm is a paint stick with a eye screw epoxed to end and taped. Just thought someone might want o see it.

Cool idea!
My question is - why not just put the float on the transducer cable - like a Vex. I just did that - hopefully that is okay.
I am guessing that Lowrance can't suggest you do this due to patent issues???
I used the rubber cord thru the ducer holes and taped the rubber to the transducer cord so that the weight of the ducer would not pull too hard inside the ducer.

I had my ducer on a vex float for a while but I only have a  5 inch auger so the hole gets crowded quick. this is what I came up with. the stop is the rubber stop you get with the vex float.

Seems to work real well for me.

You can. I did it to my 67 and it works great.
