Meadow Lake in Bear Creek????

Got an invite to spend a weekend on Meadow lake. I live in NJ and was wondering about ice conditions and anything else anybody would like to share about it. Much appreciated.....

thats a lake thats 3/4 private...the northern part of the lake is game lands, but you're talking a few mile hike in to get there...I was up there last saturday...it just completely capped a few days prior...the lakes at 2000 feet elev, so that helps...ice was between 1-3"....be careful, like I said some areas just recently capped, no one fishing it.

Rebel is it worth the walk? I took my shelter on a 2.5 mile walk last week and could only get out about 30 yds.

It's a long walk. If you want to park your car and shorten the hike a bit, enter on the east side of the lake, take the road all the way back to the gate. The residents are less "irate" on that side of the lake.

I fished the private lake a couple times last year - bout 50 yards or so from the dam breast - dinks.
Parked right along the state road. Nobody bothered me.

p.s. that lake has fond memories for me. Recall swimmin and playing football on the ice many moons ago.

That road rakes you to the wilkes barre settlement camp...my wifes uncle used to be the caretaker...I dont know if you can park along the road, but I do know the camp still has a caretaker and is patrolled.

Havent fished the lake much, but her uncle says alot of dink perch...

you can get maps of it on the PA game commissions web site under state game lands #91, or on DCNR's site under Lackawanna state forest map...Im just not certain there are any roads/trails going that far back there...there may be bushwhacking involved so pack light..

Warf did you get out today I heard four inches of ice up there

Yes, was able to get out Saturday and Sunday. There was 4 inches Saturday and maybe 5 when I left Sunday afternoon. Other guys were fishing on both sides of the dam on Sunday. I was toward the northern side and caught several small perch. Sorry for the delayed response but didn't have access to my computer. Good luck

I was there on Sunday back lake had real strong winds  but managed to get out of there path. Didn't do to bad, 6 nice perch one about 14 couple nice pickerel.
