I'm backing out, too.   :(   Our long time friends are moving to NY  :'(  and there is an afternoon send off party for them.  I could do a morning trip,  but its a long drive for a 1/2 day of fishing.   Besides, if I went without Grizly, he might stop finding safe ice for me to fish!   :o

Be sure to take pictures.  I want to see lots of pike and walleye!
Everyone has to believe in something.  I believe I'll go fishing.

I was afraid of you might have to cancel if Griz wasn't coming.  Like I said to Griz, you
know how to reach me if you want to get a late season fish in.  J

Ah dang Griz, sorry to hear that.  Go out and by the wife a really really sweet present, give it to her Friday night and when she gets all warm and glowy say "So now I know you'll forgive me for going fishing tomorrow" and start gathering your bibs and boots ;D  Seriously though, you know where the cove is and you know how to contact me.  Let's get a late season fish in.  Is Pops still in?

EVERYONE THINK GOOD ICE THOUGHTS!

That's a pretty good idea, but my dog would be sad when she left me...

We were actually talking about trying to convince you to be our guide for a day out there last night, so I'll be in touch with you about that soon for sure! I'd like to pick your brain about ice fishing near current, I definitely don't want to attempt it without a little guidance.

Pilgrim, I talked to Edneck right before first ice.  He got broken in to last year and
also was upset with the power company and I believe he put his shanty else where.

MX, you can use what ever kind of lead you want but I would stray away from the
Tea Party candidates.  Seriously, PM me if you have a specific question or start a
thread down in general.

Ricky, welcome aboard!

Capt does that present thing really work cuz i just got roped into a romantic getaway that going to nullify my gettin out with u guys sat im still hurting from last weekends screw up. wish i knew about that trick last week. ::)
i might come out when the grizzly comes out. good luck out there guys and tell Allan to save me some bread.

Ok folks, I just got back from the cove and things are looking good!

I was able to walk directly on at the main entrance with dry feet and I measured
7" just out side the main cove.  I wasn't planning on checking today but I ended
up near there so I didn't have my spud to head out to the edges and see just how the
outside ice was holding up but there were people out there and Shorty has his shack
out there a ways and he is the consummate cove pro.

The only unknown is if the power company messes with the water level, but we know
how to deal with that.

So unless something drastic happens, it is looking like game on!

It's warm enough to let them sleep in the van, isn't it?

Damn looks like I'm leaving at 4 am to bait pickup after work dads house to grab the camping stove and grill food shopping and packing the car doing breakfast lunch and dinner on the ice Tommorow. Anyone else plan on staying late?
