« on: Jan 04, 2012, 03:58 PM »
I will be fairly busy during the day but would have 1-1.5 hrs in the evening.... I will staying at the Hampton Inn on uttica Ridge (if that means anythign to anyone)

Can anyone make a recomendation on some smaller lakes I could hit? Maybe I am getting ahead of myself.... first, is there any ice in Davenport??

I know's it's been a terribly warm early winter in Southern MI.

Anyhelp is appreciated, thanks and feel free to PM

No ice here, all open water with a couple patches of skim ice. Bring a walleye rod, there are several places you can catch walleye off the bank.

Going to be 50 tomorrow and friday.

Leave your ice-fishing gear in Michigan.

No ice around here.

That's a heartbreaker, thanks for the head's up though.
Any feedback on how you catch those eyes from the bank would be great. I have only caught walleyes trolling and jigging and not form shore, sep the occasional oddball with a ball of crawlers while night time catfishing.

Any public parks or boat launches that you can recommend I fish from would be great or presentations.

Thanks again.

Right in downtown davenport behind the dam, there is a parking lot right there (before you get to the casino). bring lots of 1/4 and 3/8oz jig heads. Saugers are biting well. 3" white grub, cant go wrong with that.
