Caught about twenty gils on White Mound yesterday just before dark. Nothing biting before that. Size was between 7"-9". Caught on diamond jig and waxie. Also one 12" crappie and missed a bigger one at the hole.
see ya out there,
Ernie

95% of the lake has fishable ice at about 4.5" thick. the only place I'm worried about is a small area near the dam. I didn't go investagate but the ice definitely looked a little different than the rest of the lake. I wouldn't even carry a spud anymore as I've been over most of the ice already and there has been quite a few guys out there. If it were your first time out and venturing anywhere near the deep water by the dam I would take the safe route and carry a spud. Anyway the gils seem to be feeding just before dark on the weed flat off the boat landing. Couldn't get anything interested anytime before that.
