Took a trip up to norfolk today.
I stayed in the boat launch cove. 2-3" black ice, .25" snow cover. About 50 yards from the launch there was a very visable line. Past the line was not safe, 1-2". Another guy showed up when I was leaving and told me on saturday that line was the start of open water.
I put out 5 traps with shiners, no fish.
Just glad to at least get out. Please if you head out to woodcreek be careful, im over 200lbs and was able to fish in area right by the launch, which is about 4-5 feet of water. I did not explore the lake. Im just reporting what I did .
