X67C vs. ICE 345... Which is the best dual?
« on: Dec 23, 2011, 06:37 AM »
Hey,

There`s either going to be a Lowrance X67C, or Hbird ICE 345C bought during boxing week,

However, Which one is the better choice as far as a dual softwater, hardwater machine?

I have an X67C and got it out for the first time last week and wow I was very impressed, it also fished a foot and a half away from my Vex FL8 with no interference problems at all, I have absolutely no regrets about buying it.  The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the mounting system inside the case is gimicky, I had to drill holes into the base and re-attach the grimbal bracket.
As far a the X67C being a better unit than the Bird' 345C, well I doubt that, the X67C is cheaper but the Bird has more power, dual beam transducer and packaging that looks like it will work right out of the box without any modification's.  Get what you want, I know the X67C will not dissapoint you and I am sure the Bird won't either.

Thanks for your reply.  It helped with my decision - I found the humminbird 345C for 267.00 @ an online store -- looks like that is what I will be getting.

its to bad the dual beam is a 20 and 60 degree.  if it was a 20 and 9 I would of def got the 345 over the x67c.

Well,

I did some boxing day ( canadian after christmas holiday ) shopping tonight, and bought a Lowrance X67C Ice Machine Ice Pack for 239.00 CAD.

Set it up, the battery is on charge. I keep checking the charge indicator like every 20 minutes hoping for that green light... I wanna do the Lowrance Dance REAL BAD!!!!
