number 6 hooks are standard for me, but it depends on the size of bait and the size of PeRcH.

Do the leaves of trees stay greener, in the autumn, does the colour of the sun, turn crimson white? Does a shadow come between us, in the winter?

i usually use very small hooks for perch. even big fish can get hooked on small hooks. just to prove that point a few weeks ago while jigging for perch i caught a 28 inch 10 pound walleye on a 1/12 oz. kastmaster on an ultralite jig stick. i use 1/12 oz. kastmasters and tiny teardrop jigs and have caught 14 inch perch on them. as long as the hook is small enough to get in their mouth you can hook them and even big fish will bite on small bait. presentation plays a bigger role on getting fish to hit than hook size.
