Look at the Red Door Resort their ice house are basically brand new. The resort is on the north end of the lake.

It will depend on where they can set the houses, right now there is a 100 yard wide crack preventing them from getting out. If they can get the house out to the flats, which they should be able to by the 3rd weekend in Jan the night fishing should be good.

Appledoorns on the east side of the lake is a good one. They hosted the Iceshanty gathering for a few years, Paul seems like a top notch guy too.
They always have a pretty good road system out there if it ever locks up good...
It's been pretty warm lately.
I will eat my dang boots (the screwed ones) if we don't have a whole bunch of ice by the third week in january though...

No alcohol is available on the reservation, but no one cares if you drink on the lake!
There is an off sale on every corner...

I am gonna sound like a broken record here, but BRING YOUR PORTABLE... Guys make the trip, rent a big cushy shack, and sit in it all weekend. This is the sole reason for most skunked trips on this lake. If you have an ATV/Snowmobile and a portable, bring the dang thing with!
A GPS with a lake chip is also worth it's weight in gold. The lake is easy to read, but tough to fish. Nearly all the structure is off shore and finding it can be a bugger.
Use the big shack as your base camp and go from there.
