So I guess in certain areas or states such as PA, you have to hunt for a monster instead of just waiting on one to walk by. PA has always been one of the leaders in hunters and in hunting license sales and deer population in years past. Lots of other states grow massive bucks because of leased and private ground and food, and good management. True there may be very few old bucks in PA..but there are still some..of that 10% that may still rome around, there is only 2-3% if that of the hunting population willing to let them get that old here. Traditionally here if it's brown it's down for most people.. and that's their choice as it is/was legal until the antler restrictions came about. Hopefully in years to come PA will have many more older and larger bucks that we can brag about. Proper management and food  is most important thing. We need it here.

My neighbor killed a buck a few years back that was aged by the PGC at over 10 yrs. There are plenty of 5 yr olds around, try and kill them.
Never get excited there's a reason for everything,I just don't know what it is??

where you guys live center of the state? far out east? Deer opinions are like talking politics. But the reason we dont see as many huge bucks is there are so many hunters per huntable acre. we have genatice here there has been 200 plus deer killed here and look at the size of the 2 yr olds that get shot every yr. but hey lets start talking fish and fish stories. I herd of a group that catches crappies at moraine. Is this a myth? I fished off neely one time last season and man dinks I used bait at pyme that was bigger.

Wild and I are Central Pa. My neighbors buck was killed near Clearfield area, go on PGC website and type the name "Bill Chaney" and they have the story on his buck.

thats what I am talking about. Its not the antlers we eat it is just the headgear we look at. It is just nice to hunt and eat some injected backstrap and deer chili  when I want. now lets get some cold water fillets

3 points to a side for the majority of the state, 4 points to a side in  the west. On our farm my uncle is in QDM our regs for the farm are 4x4 width of the ears, we don't shoot alot of buck, but when one of us connects they are usally a nice animal.
