No mousies this year

Just heard from our bait distributor... Looks like there will not be ANY mousies available anywhere in the country this year  :o
Not good! This may make the spikes hard to get at some point as well...  ::)

wow im glad i only use waxies...did he give a reason was there a big kill off from one of the bait farms or something?

Had a shortage last year too I heard it was some kind of bacteria.
I got 1000 spikes already but looks like I better grab another.

Ya I said shortage I saw them available once last year.
The shop had a big sign "we have mousies" and the price was jacked I'm glad I use spikes.
I will be trying plastics this year maybe I can get away from bait all together but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I was able to locate a bait dealer on line, Knutson's Live Bait and they are indicating that they do have mousies.  I placed an order for a thousand with them this evening. The prices were reasonable and very close to what I have paid in the past.  I haven't dealt with them before so I will let you know how the order turns out.  Here's the link if anyone wants to check them out http://www.knutsonlivebait.com/

calicohunter, i did the same thing. My buddy who would order from a dealer for many people was told 1000 per
customer. Dont drop any mousies they're like gold these days.

Wow that happened quick!  It looks like I may have just made it in under the wire...I received UPS notification that my order has been shipped today...feels like getting the golden ticket from Willy Wonka!  But I'm not going to get smug until I have those precious little grubs in my fridge! :icefish:

That sucks. I tried mousies last year and didn't have much luck with them, but the mousie shortage could cut into waxies and spikes.

Thanks for the tip, I checked the web site this morning to place an order.    Unfortunately, mousies are now listed as "Out of Stock 2011/2012"

lowaccord66, as a former Bristolite I will keep you in mind if I have any extras but I'm not promising anything!  I'm already giving 1/2 to a buddy!  Might depend on whether your from Central or Eastern side of town...hmmm, then I'll think about it some more!
