I'm just curious who actually has fishable ice. And if its not fishable, how much do you have so far??

We do out here in colorado! I've been fishing 5 to 9 inches of ice since nov. 6th

We have had ice since thanksgiving. So 4-8 depending on where you go.

2.5 to 3 in sheltered areas by me, the wind has been wreaking havoc on most lakes in the vicinity though. Been out the last two days. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife's fish today. 12" of ice with 250 yards away from open water. The ice went out past the bridge 200 yards.

I know what your going through Las Suel Freak. I grew up near Rockford and always seemed good ice took forever.

Usually At least Christmas for good ice but sometimes mid December. Hopefully it stays late this season.

Well from what I'm reading, it sounds like it would be a fairly long road trip to fish. This weather is really sucking. Its not looking good for my plans. Having my knee surgery on Monday and I'll be off 3-4 weeks. I was planning/hoping to soend a big part of the last 2 weeks recouping on the ice. Plus, my goal every year is to hit the ice before Christmas....not looking good for us Hoosiers.

Went out for an hour or so yesterday on a small backwoods lake for splake.There was 5-6 inches of clear ice.Did not get in to any fish but at this point I'm just happy to have fishable ice.I was talking to some people that stopped by and they said that they had been out checking ice on a bunch of local smaller lakes and many of them had fishable ice,you just had to be careful.Problem now is none of the local shops are carrying any bait till the big lakes freeze up
