I've been receiving questions regarding this seasons tournament and I'll answer here :

I was asked if there is going to be children's categories in this seasons tournament.

Yes

I was asked if the species (categories) were posted and what were they.

No they weren't posted yet. I will be posting the main Tournament post within the next 2 weeks and that will have all the details.
I can tell you I added categories for this season.

Are children able to be posted through the parents membership ?

No. The children have to be signed up as members (it's free). It gets too confusing if the entry is posted under another members screen name.

Yes. The Youth Category is for members 12 years old or younger.

5) The photo must be posted (no snail mail) within the tournament dates/times by the entrant.

is this state specific? ofr biggest species in a given category for a given state or just biggest fish in each category all together

It is not state, province or even country specific.

It is the largest eligible (meets tournament requirements) entry per category.

should i post pics even if they arent the biggest on there? you said something about weekly prizes? How many fish can i enter? sorry for so many questions this is my first time thanks

There will be a "short" category to post any entries that do not challenge the leaders board.
By doing this I won't have to check measurements and it allows signed up members to be eligible for prizes in the weekly drawings.
Once you post an entry in either the short category or in the main categories your eligible for the drawings.
Your screen name will only go in once no matter how many entries you post and if your name is drawn you are then out of the drawings.

In the rules it states that the pics must include the tourny card....where do I get this? also, it mentions a pretty specific measuring device....Is a regular ol' tape measure not good enough?

Just be patient, after the "Sign-up" closes, the cards will be posted.
Did you read where it says on page one of the sign-up, ONLY YELLOW AND BLACK tape can be used? Check out a contractors retractable tape that's carried on a belt clip at any hardware or building supply store/yard/place/etc.

Tourney card will be available for printing @ midnight Dec 31st.
Tape measure is just a regular carpenters measure. ie. regular ol' tape
measure.

This is my first time entering this tournament and I want to thank LW for his hard work with setting up this tournament. I assist with setting up tournaments for our fishing club back in PA and completely understand the frustration and amount of work associated with these tournaments and getting sponsors. I have to say kudos to LW for all his work over the past years and if he decides, the future years.

question...fishing in pop up portable..-25celcius ...is it ok to take the picture with the tape measure and the card,on the clearly visable ice, inside the shack ...just to save the fish some stress ..then step outside to take a quick shot..
might save some fish.. secondly why not have a video entry, then a still picture, every camera nowadays takes video.. at least you can see the fish still alive an kicking..and not like it's been pulled from a plastic bag , from some fishing trip in dec..
