I'm sure you'll be fine.  For me there is no reason to rush onto rhe ice, plenty of good fishing to be had still without it.  Had some fun the past couple of weeks woth ct river pike but too many people at the usual haunts.  West Hill was empty last weekend and was productive.  Farmington river has been high but productive.  Hell there's keeper stripers in Norwich.  Just no really good reason to risk safety to pull something out of a hole in the ice.

Saturday 24th December, western mass will probably be the first trip.  Side note: do you have any handles for a lazer hand auger kicking around?

I asked a co-worker who lives upstate NY said not much ice around.  Sunday I'll see how it looks in the berkshires.

I saw the tipup porn and found out where it was tonight during Thirsty Thursday. Not surprising who it was either. 

One more night of punky weather and we're settling down for the next week to make some ice. Hopefully the wind isn't too bad tomorrow and tears up whats still holding. I have next Friday off. Maybe with a little luck I can get out somewhere.

I've had 2 different reports from guys already fishing in the NW corner...  I'll be out somewhere on Monday, not sure where I'll end up yet but I'm going. 

Blaine, have you had any reports today ? Hoping that warm up/rain didn't completely ruin everything.

Saturday and Sunday the temps are supposed to be below average.
But.....the next 4 days starting Monday are predicted to be 5 to 8 degrees above average.
Unless you can fish on a half-inch of ice,  it looks to me like 2012 for most of CT . Again...hope I am wrong!
