I swear, it's like 60 degrees right now.  We are hitting upper 20's each night and then 50's - 60's each day.  This isn't working for me.

I feel ya. I'm trying to be patient with the arrival of ice, but doesn't seem to be working. Especially after it reached 73 degrees yesterday.

Anyone interested in investing in a year around ice fishing venture? I mean they do it for hockey right..... Just think, ice in NE in July... The 4th on ice...

Teach a kid to fish and hunt and they will be resourceful, smart and confident. Today's world is much different than the one I knew as a child. They need these skills even more than I did.

i know..... i took the kayak out today and jigged for gills with my ice rod and my vexi......  Please get cold and lets get to the hard water

Keep your chin up!  With the temps getting below freezing every night and cooling the water down, all we'll need is a one good cold snap with little to no wind.  It was 19 near Gretna this morning when I woke up.

Seen on another forum a guy was out to the refuge and had 5" of ice.  Time to go.  Gerald

Today is the first time I noticed ice was still on a couple small ponds through the day.  We just need the high temps to drop 10 degrees and we'll be on our way.

 Same here. Driving home from Norfolk I saw that the ponds were holding ice, but barely.

I agree with everyone here and unfortunately the extended outlook has no arctic blast in it to bring us our ice!!! I just finished making a winch rack for the pick up truck that will pull my sled up ramps for me this year. No more breaking the back!! Hopefully I will get to use it by Christmas...
