Count me as one of the jealous ones. I live closer to the cities and there's just a skim of ice on the ponds and today it's 45 degrees - that doesn't help.

In that case I would be punching holes and fishing...

It is currently 60 degrees in Bismarck today.  Way too warm.  This stretch of weather is going to set hard water fishing back a couple weeks. :(

I'm in south east Michigan, only ice yesterday was in my jack and coke. Well at least rifle deer season is still in full swing. Then late fall steel head fishing. December archery/ muzzle loader season. Late goosehunting. THEN   ICEFISHING !!! Michigan is really the sportsmans Paradise so many seasons so little time.
Just my 2 cents.. keep it or spend it up to you

I'm still looking at winds 20 to 25 knots and waves 3 to 5 feet.  Really hard to get that to freeze.

There are two types of fisherman - those who fish for sport and those who fish for fish.

i really should go check the ice again. it's been long enough with steady cold temps that there should be at least 4"... maybe i'll see what a couple friends are doing next wednesday and go looking for ice at a couple of small ponds i like. take the shotguns too in case the ducks are flying or the ice isn't safe, etc. etc.  ;)

6-7 inches in most places, but as little as 2" in places with snow on the lake I was on Sat.  This is in Northwestern WI.  Watch it if your heading out... the ice is really inconsistent...
