Sorry no Brown Trout in Alaska!
My guess is that is an Arctic Char. They are pretty common here in Alaska.
BTW arent lakers in the Char family?

No browns huh. Well that Arctic Char looks a lot closer to a brown than a Lake trout does here is Colorado. The Lake trout here have a deeper V in their tail as you can see in the Pictures I sent.

Arctic Char (lakers are char too). No browns this far north. Most lakes are still open, but after a few hours of driving, we found 2"-3" on a couple lakes. Still pretty sketchy though. There was definately a little pucker factor getting on & off. It was in the 40's yesterday, so we lost more than gained, but by next weekend, it'll be free gravy!

The Lions of the past, dropped balls/errant passes/amateurish play, made an appearance again today. Oh well. Another week closer to safe ice is in the books though and that's a very good thing.

Well I am just jealous like the rest of em.......I have changed over hooks and leaders and the auger started in one pull......ready to go in VT, but with 60 degrees lately it is not looking good for early fishing!
