Most of these lakes they are referencing are private lakes.

every place I've fished so far was 100% public  ;)   they just require a bit of a hike up a mountain to get to  ;D

Yeah ski, but that word you just used - "was" - is what didn't make the 30 mile drive worth it.

He!!, I'd drive to the Dack's if I knew that's where the ice "is"

Well guys, the lakes have recapped ever so slightly, 14degrees this morning halfway up the plateu, so i'm assuming 12 degrees at markd's and emerald.  Funny thing is, there is a saddle of ice right in the middle of the back bay of leisure lake that must not have dehfrosted yesterday and the rock bounced off of it barely breaking thru.  Maybe, just maybe, i'll try to drill a hole tomorrow, if not, tuesday looks very promising.  The search for early ice starts tomorrow.  Enjoy children.

Well, they are on in NY, 4 hours north, meaning we here in PA will be on the ice this week.  Almost thought we could beat them on, dam those Dacks.

Anyway guys, ice grew all day, the search for early ice starts in the morning, and can bet that flags will fly on Tuesday.  Enjoy boys.

Ski, you gonna try and get a tip=up out tomorrow?  Gotta gety that first hole drilled buddy and drop a line thru it.

I am going to take a ride to Moshannon again tomorrow, if its safe fish it either tomorrow or tuesday, I think it'll be good to go by the end of the week. I'm having surgery on Wednesday, and I'll probably have to rest for a few days before I go out again.

Mark D, how is the ice? You think it will hold up for the weekend?

The temps should fall again over the weekend, hopefully there will be some ice left to work with.  ;D

This rain is bull, seriously, I don't know what  or anyone did to piss the ice gods off, but this is getting flat out ridiculous.. I mean yesterday, if I looked at the weather and didn't know better, I'd think it were Easter rather than Christmas..

A disturbing pattern for sure. :P At least when you get an Arctic Clipper and the lakes can't freeze due to high winds, there is usually that brief calm that allows everything to lock up. Still waiting for it..........

The lake I made it out on survived the warm spell/ rain last week but wasn't thick enough to make back out on on Saturday morning after work

Sure looked nice though with some fresh powder on it

Didn't have time to check it today but what little snow was on the roads Saturday am was gone so I'm assuming its gone off the lake to build ice tonight and I'm off from work tomm  ;) ;D

Hopefully, when our places lock up, we don't get a heavy snow fall on the ice, to slow down the good black ice from buildin up for us.
Stay safe an stay on top everyone, when we finally get out there. I know everyone's anxious to go.

If there's skim/powder on that other lake, Wolf Swamp has to have at least 6" of hard, black ice by now!  ;D

with the way the wind was blowing at the bottom of the mountain yesterday I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere even remotely near Wolf
