Welcome Ahrenv.
This sounds as if you've invented something which some of us would like to see.
Picture posting to this site can't be done.
Go to PhotoBucket.com, put your pics there and post only the IMG code here and it'll work.

I'm asking to clarify why have the outlet cover on?  Is it so you don't drill one hole and send the bit down the new drilled hole? Nice set up. How do you get it so true w/ the auger attached so it doesn't wabble when drilling?

yes the outlet cover is on to hold against that other nut thats welded on. thats on there just in case i have to back the auger. that way i don't lose the the set up. My other option was to put a long screw to stick out the side of the 'bit'. that way if it does fall off it will hopefully catch on the ice.... as of getting true. i wasn't to worried on being as true as possible. i figured when i do it by hand i wobble a bit... same on the power auger. ... just a prototype, i would have like it to have been a bit shorter, but with this length i wont need to bend over to much.  i might have rambled a bit.  other wise its just a rod over to 5/8's fine thread bolts. i want to say its a mora 7".

outlet cover:

the two bolts were threaded on the auger... then tacked up, that way they are one.
bolt:

the drill bit was a old wood boring/spade bit:

Hope that helps.
