I've noticed that in the past 2 weeks there has been more activity here on the shanty then there has been on fish finder, Hmmm, who wudda thunk, an ice fishing site thats more popular then a soft water site during soft water

Hows about a show of Hardcore Ice fishing hands Aye ? I'm in !

well dont really have much to post on MFF since i really dont get much time to fish soft water cause i work 7 days a week from june till hunting season.it does kind of wear me out a bit but it does seem to make the summer go by quiker.c'mon cooler temps and changing leaves

Made a float for my Marcum's transducer, used my ice rods and jigs and caught a bunch of perch with my feet on ice cubes in my canoe yesterday. Does that make me the first one out on the ice for the upcoming season

I've noticed its been busier here too,more traffic than normal for this time of year.It's just plain ugly out and will be for a week out.Been out once since ice out,just isn't the same.C'mon December,get here allready.

I work 75-80 hours per week during the spring & summer and cannot take vacation days then. Fall is hunting time. I only fish on the ice.

What more can I do but dream of ice fishing as it will be well into the 90°s today with 94% humidity. I tried swimming yesterday in the lake and was almost eaten alive by deer flys. I can put up with mosquitos but those damn deer flys leave welts on me.

I am out in Billings Mt, visit my daughter and we went on Beartooth highway there was snow everywhere , I wanted to stay there it was so nice and cool

I've been catching trout and perch for a few trips. Been having some good dinners! We have a lake that's so high up that it stays 10 degrees cooler than at home. 2 weeks ago I went up there at 530 am and it was 45 degrees! Man I was lovin it. But just like all of us on here, I'd rather be throwing them on ice than dropping them into a livewell full of 70 degree water.
