If anyone is heading up to LL next week there will be a few of us chasing the lakers and burbot. I will be there Mon and fishing hard all week mainly in the small day-trippah swing by.

I'm heading up tomorrow and probably going to stay till next Sun. if everything goes right. I'll be camping close to the public access so you'll have to stop in for a drink.

With the way the temps are looking I might just take my solar shower and do it on the ice. Although fish slime does cover up BO nicely

I hope you stop by the store and stock up... I believe more people are going to be out there than ever before at one time. I also heard that a couple of them are in the mood to tie one on! BTW - I heard the bite was slowing down. But that is just another rumor that I started.

We have for sure four people going out. If the wife and her friend come that makes 6. Looks like the women would stay at the Lodge. Either way the plywood shack with the NO FEAR looking windows will be hopping saturday night. Let's hope the burbot are biting. I am going to fish real shallow. 1-2 ft underneath the ice. I usually fish more moderate waters, 15-35 ft.

Well Akhardwater finally caught a pile a whites...Too bad half went for shack rental...I saw a nice laker by salmonmans shack Im guessing 14-15 lbs whats the story with that? Oh yeah the burbot bite IS slowing down now so its not a rumor anymore Dirt... And then theres E.....Than he musta done something right somewhere along the lines cause the fish gods REALLY seem to shine down on him...All and all OUR group of 9 landed close to 50 fish...no monsters 14 probably was the biggest...Awesome weather except the drive home and the groomer groomed us in to the shacks which was sweet...Akhardwater was a champ as he spent a week in quickfish 6 pop up shack on the ice not just fishing but SLEEPING in it tougher than me...or dumber havent figured it out yet...lol GREAT trip wish you all coulda been there...NOT!!!

Heres the story Dirt, I brought a new friend out to try some Laker and Burbot fishing. We were fishing close to Dube and E....'s group with 4' of water under the ice. The sun was just setting and we were hoping the burbot were going to bite. I put on a new glow jig with a fresh strip of whitefish, thank you Akhardwater. Stirred up the bottom a little and was talking to Iced and Hardwater. I looked over to see Phil the newbie running for my rod. The picture says the rest. Phil won't be out again anytime soon and he wanted to eat and mount it.

Had a great time fishing with everyone this past week. The weather could not have been better. For those of you who think I'm nuts to camp out for a week in a Q6 your right I am a little nuts. I did have the floor down so it was actually real comfortable. Thanks for letting me sit in your shack Dude. Catching those whitefish was probably the highlite of my trip. Hopefully next year I can supply bait for the whole forum

. I learned one very valuable leasson on controlling condensation on the ceiling in the portables. To avoid the drip put a tarp over the top of the shack. It creates a dead air space that allows the fabric to breath without freezing. Caught lots of fish and lots of sun, now I'm just counting the days till the next trip. I'll be up there for my birthday on the 15. Hope to see you all there.
