The only public access is at the town beach in the center of town, directly across the street from the firehouse.

We fished Blue Mountain on Sunday.  The wind was blowing about 30 mph.  It also only got up to 19 degrees by the time we quit at 12:30.  We landed one laker and had a few other chances.  I parked on the side that the firehouse is on.  The entire area has no parking signs on both sides of the streets.  I was just glad that I did not get a ticket or get towed.  I just did not see anyplace to park.  It was the coldest that I have been in years on the ice.  I measure 26" of ice.  Shoreline was still fine.

There is no parking. Plus the fishing being slow, why you don't see a lot of people out there.

I fished Blue at least a half dozen times this year with very poor results. Too much effort to walk out and the no parking issue. Much better and more productive lakes than BML to fish for lakers in the Adks with better action.

Fished Chateaugay lake last 2 days and there is still 18 inches of ice in some spots.  (That's the lower lake).
