Where does everyone park when they fish the Gut never been up there and heading up tomorrow morning

we got out there about seven this morning first hole drilled i sent down a white haley for blue gills 20 yards out from the knight state park beach and bang, pike on. Didn't get a good hook set since it was my "noodle" rod and only got a glimpse of him. No fish all day, could see a few perch but did not ice anything
