Great weekend to fish!

What great weather now. No big winds so far, like they forecast yesterday and not too cold either. Friends are out there fishing already and doing great, from what they told me on the phone. Hopefully get out there tomorrow. Anyone else having luck today, I wonder?

Last night was nasty. Much nicer today and the fish were hitting well, from what we saw and heard. Hope tomorrow is as good!

This was our worst weekend yet, we did our usual morning run. Only one flag set off by the bait, the weather was great when we left.

I got a nice sunburn today

Yeah I got my first sunburn of the year today.  We fished nCarry Bay and only landed 2 pike and 1 pickerel.  We had all 30 tip ups in the water at around 6:30 and didn't catch a fish until 9:40.  It was nice to fish all day with just a baseball cap on though.  When I drove by the sandbar at around2:30 it looked like a damn carnival out there.

It was a beautiful day, got on the ice at 8, walked my .64 mile and set up right where the boy and i fished yesterday. 1st fish was a 14" hog perch on a minnow and pimple and the bite lasted till about 1. Yesterday i was getting into the smelt which was a surprise for champlain but today no go. Are ciscoes good for anything? i caught a half pail and thought they might make good bait.  -Dave
