Great walking at Island Pond.  Pretty solid.  Broke thru to some slush in a few places where the snowbanks of the plowed road are.  Besides that, bring your crampons.

Fished Seymour on Saturday.. Minus the 40 mph winds the walking was good. There was about 7-8 inches of frozen slush on top of about 6 inches of black ice.. I think even the fish new better than to venture out that day.

there was a gap, but the top was a solid 3-4", then 5" or so of slush on the ice.  good walking, poor fishing.
