Didn't see much of a tourney but my girlfriend and four of my friends and I made it out there. Fished from sun down to 1:30am. Set up our own little smelt town away from the crowd. Ended up with 224 between my gf and I and my friends ended up with half a five gallon bucket.



Ended up catching this one by hand out of the hole! Smallest smelt I've caught yet! Fish were very active all night. 70 FOW, fish were from surface to the bottom

Ha...that's exactly what I did a couple years back.  Set up away from the main pack and got the overflow of smelts with just my lantern light to bring em in.  They came right up to the hole.

Always fish away from the crowds and seem to do pretty good JJ! We had one underwater green light and 3 homemade smelt lights hooked to 12 volt car batteries. Lit up like a football field!

The tourney happened in the morning.  How ever I didn't make it out there until about 2.  Too much booze.

Lucky we got out there when we did at 4:00. An hour and a half later the North launch parking was full!

I can tell you this is the first one I missed, because of the FLU. I have fished all day with those guys and they all are men. I don't drink, and yet I still enjoyed there company for the entire day. Believe me if their drinking was a big issue I would be the first to get out of there.

i went with a group of four i had 111 tjr had 89 and hunter 44 had 98 it was fun there was a ton of people on the lake also seen a few pike caught

Probably a frog spear or something?  Don't know if you can spear for them or not though.  Mine as well bring a shotgun with and try some buckshot out on them  :o ;D :o
