I was there last night doing a little night fishing.
Only managed one sunfish, but I had hits most of the time I was there.
I submerge a set of LED flashlights (secured by line and enclosed in a watertight bag) down a center hole and drill additional holes around the center about 3-4 feet out. Set up jigging rods in rod holders with strike indicator bells attached and wait for the sound!
It was nice last night with some bright moonlight and almost no wind at all. I only wish I had started earlier in the evening.
As for my access point, I parked alongside the soccer field and walked across to the pond (the section that get cut off from the main part of the pond during the summer). That was a PITA because the snow in the field was untouched and I kept pushing through the knee-deep snow.
I found a better access: walk down Pond St towards the park parking lot. When you see the pond, walk down there (sleds will slide easily pver the snow, but it's not too deep and the distance to the pond is probably 10-15 feet instead of 100+ feet.
You will be on the ice, which is (as of last night) over a foot to a foot and a half thick. Keep in mind that there is frozen slush on top of the solid ice, but the surface should hold up well over the next few days of warm weather.
Good luck!
