Malletts Bay
« on: Feb 15, 2011, 12:49 AM »
I'm planning on making the 4 hour drive to Mallets Bay this weekend, Ill like to go for pike or walleyes, was wondering if that's a good place for them. If it is, where would be a good spot to fish and at what depth. I've never caught a pike or a walleye. Would be nice to catch one.

ive heard the north side of malletts bay can be good for pike. Niquettes bay has a state access, that isnt too bad of a walk to get to the lake. Ive also heard of people catching walleyes off the point of niquettes, but have never any myself. Any access on mallettes bay right now is pretty crappy, deep snow. Cant really use atvs again yet, snowmobiles are having a hard time. General fishing has been really slow this year

The sandbar.....south side of rte 2 is good for pike and perch.  May need snowshoes still.  Had to use them all weekend.
The closest flag up may be the one that is behind you !

If you are driving four hours you can find someplace better to go.
