A couple questions about my Vex

Okay, as far as operating my machine, I know how to do that. But I have a few questions.

1)This is a brand new unit, never used (will be tomarrow though   ). How charged is the battery when it arrives? Should I slap the charger on it, or is it ready to go? It works, but I don't know if it'll quit on me while I'm out there.

2)Does the charger that comes with it have an automatic shutoff? I assume it does, because the book recommends one, but I thought I'd ask, as it doesn't say for sure if it does or not.

Well I just used mine today for the first time,a pro FL-18,and the charge indicator showed 100% at the onset and after 8hrs.it was at 40% so it should be fine.The charger is supposed to have an automatic shut- off but Vexilar does have a website or phone#.

I don't know about this years package but the fl-18 I bought last year did NOT come with an automatic shut off on the charger, be careful not to overcharge the battery or you will destroy it.

This is what I gather.  If your transformer that  plugs into the wall has a built in LED light, is probably has the auto shut-off.  If it does not have the LED light (like mine), it probably does not have the auto shut-off.  It says to charge 2 hours of every hour of use, but no more than 48 hours AFTER full charge has been obtained.

The charger does not have an automatic shut off. When the light comes on it goes into a lesser charge rate but it is not recommended to leave it on more than 48 hrs.

OK, thanks for the clarification.  Makes more sense, going into a trickle charge type mode after charging is complete.
