Strikemaster started leaking black fluid
« on: Feb 11, 2011, 01:41 AM »
I was out today and for the first time I noticed my Strikemaster Lasermag leaking a black liquid. Whe I went to drill hole it would spit out here and there. Im running Amsoil Sabre Pro at 80:1, cant be excess oil could it? It was black and somewhat watered down?? Any suggestions? I just bough this auger in Nov.  ???

I would say it is excess oil. (leaking out of the muffler right?)
It is probably because your air fuel mixture needs leaned out a little. Give it to a buddy that tinkers with engines and stuff and he will have it running like a champ and no oil blowing out of the muffler with a little tweaking.

I've been getting a little out of mine but I've been using Stihl oil. It's been running fine for years.

Yes, it won't hurt it. It will not develop the rpm's and power that it is capable of and it may foul the plug sooner but it won't hurt it

Carbon and water are normal byproducts of combustion. Add the 2 together and you get a black oily liquid.

Perfectly normal. Don't lose any sleep over it and have fun, keep drilling.
