I see that you have a lot of faith in Mepps. Me too! I also have good luck with a small Rapala. Nice mess of fish-I like the tiger.

Papal. All my big bass were caught on them except for one. My pb brown and lmb were caught on rapalas. I love the jointed Minnie and the sitter pop. Have yet to try a jigging rap. The bass was 8.5 lbs and the brown around 5. It was a male with a big hookjaw, huge spots, and was 21 inches. Unfortunately my dad didn't have the camera because he didn't think we would catch anything. I caught it in an unlikely spot, a slow, warmwater pool on the sudbury river. The tiny fish in those pics is a salmon from the westfield river. Great little river.

The small brownie, although not native, is wild as well. The brookie was caught in the swift river. There are tons of them there. Because the water is so clear, I saw a 2 lber swimming. The small brownie is from the deerfield and the salmon from the westfield

Yea they are. I wish I had a picture of the 21 inch hookjaw male from the sudbury river. It was orangey.21 inches, I know a little repetetive. And had a big hooked jaw. It also had large spots

I had no clue the Sudbury had trout!  I fish it year round for Bass and Pike, never threw a trout lure on.  Way to be.  What part of the Sudbury was it?  Nice fish!

That fat rainbow with a mepps hanging out of its mouth is from there. I hve a secret spot there, my buddy caught 20 rainbows in one day! In Ashland is where they stock, rarely do they holdover. The secret spot does occasionally. It us the best trout pool in the sudbury

sweet job man.  well done to know that browns are never natives but may well be wild fish.  alot of ppl make the mistake of calling wild browns natives, maybe i'm a snob by letting that get to me!

beautiful fish! I can remember my dad took us trout fishing from Holden to Belchertown and everywhere in between every weekend with our little spinning rods. Once I got to about age 7 or 8 then he put a fly rod in my hand. it's never left my hand....
It's all ball bearings these days......

Oh, right on.  Never been to that part of it.  Usually in the Concord region.  Will have to try that part!

thank you for sharing alot of pictures, awesome that your pop takes you out fishing and thats real cool, make an album with those picture, a real printed one and put the dates in there, someday you will be glad you did!  here are some trout pictures of mine.

i got this brown in late december 2007 on a small spinner.

here is a brown i got right at darkfall in may.

here is a brown from a small river in connecticut from april.

this brown hit a swim bait in a small private pond in march while bass fishing.

i get lucky sometimes and get one ice fishing even.

To the OP:
If you catch and release, please do yourself a kindness and pinch down the barbs. The mere sight of that little brownie on the treble hook make even bears cry :)

I'm not sure but according to Wendell “Ozzie” Ozefovich there are signs to identify a wild brownie by: blue patch behind its eye and bright spots on its adipose fin.
