Being a new member all i have are pictures from last winter. We have only been back to school for a week and the first trip is already planed; the boys are going to spend saturday on Lake Ozonia. Hopefully i'll have some new pics up by monday afternoon. I'd be interested to hear anything anyone has to say about Ozonia, none of us have ever been there.
Thanks, PSC

Here is my roommate with a fine 10Lb Brown from the north country. Caught from one of the fish creek ponds (artificials only) on 6 lb test...ON THE ROD. after a 25 minute fight and a lot of OMG's and holy @#*s, the beast finally showed his face at the 8 inch hole. Got him on a 3 teardrop rig and spikes. (((see the orange teardrop still in his upper jaw...))). Sorry to say this ol' boy is not on the wall. Apon cleaning it, 2 kokanee salmon were found in its stomach..one 10 inches and the other 9  :o :o :o!!!!

The home made shanty built by a few friends. 6'x12', 3 holes in the floor, potbelly stove, tin roof, and sliding fiberglass windows.

Here i am with a 24 inch pickerall and my buddy Andy in the background after a day on Lake George. Notice the 2 bays of the sink filled with perch  :)  Andy guided us that day. (last winter)

My roommate again with a nice 30 inch northern from a private pond back home. (last winter)This big girl was a victim of the tip-up. 5 minutes after landing his, i lose one at the hole when the 30Lb braided nylon breaks  :o

The roommate yet again with a rare kokanee salmon from the same pond as the 10Lb brown above. His first kokanee.

Me with a 16 Inch splake (hybrid brooke trout and lake trout) last year. It was my first splake.

L-->R.... Kenny, Derek, Andy and Josh after a successfull day on Lake George again. Again, Andy lead the way acrost the ice.

When the day ends like this, were reminded that it's not always about how many fish you catch.

That is a heck of a brown trout.  I am almost certain that i have never seen one that big come through the ice.  Congrats to your roommate for the catch.

Oh yeah and welcome to iceshanty Family...

Yo...I graduated from Paul Smiths (1987).  I was a transplant from Philly, and got a good dose of culture shock.  First experiences: havin a girl spit out her dip before kissing you good night, watching a girl sit on the end of her bed in bra and panties clean her chainsaw, having the same girl beat you at arm wrestling, etc.

Used to have a great time ice-fishing all the local ponds.  Caught a few pike off the Point on Saranac Lake.  We used to set up lots of tip-ups and play ice soccer with Matt's beer balls.  Whoever was the first to a flag got the fish (regardless of who owned the tip-up).  Needless to say there was lots of tackling to see who got to the flag first.  Kind of sucked when some gomer ran to your tip-up and yanked as hard as he could, causing a lost fish.

My favorite adventures were carrying the canoe back through the seven carries and fishing Little Long Pond for trout on the evening rise in June.  That pond had some awesome rainbows, brookies, and splake.

Do the leaves of trees stay greener, in the autumn, does the colour of the sun, turn crimson white? Does a shadow come between us, in the winter?

Great post, wonderful pics. Welcome to IS. Don't lose those photos. Years from now when you're married you'll be able to look at them and remember when you used to be able to clean fish in the kitchen sink :)
