Sodus Help
« on: Feb 08, 2011, 03:08 PM »
I posted this in the reports and conditions page as well......Heading out to Sodus this weekend and only have fished there a couple of times in my short ice fishing career, and always just jigging for panfish.  I will be heading out on eastern shore across from eagle Island...Just got some tip-ups i want to try so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where to go for for pike w/o having to walk miles ( no sled/atv).

Set up between the island and main land in that strip of water its shallow and weedy. I always put the bait just a foot under the ice even mid season. You should at least get some flags in that area.
Its never to cold to fish.

You could always try down by shaker heights in the shallows I have had some luck there in the past. Just another spot for you.

Thank You!  I appreciate any suggestions.  Does it matter if i run my string N-S or E-W?....From looking at the contour map it doesnt look like much change in depth in that area

No that whole area is the same depth. The direction of your string wont matter.
