This one truly warms my heart  ;)

Nice to see the laws, enforcement, etc. work as they were
meant to, to protect the sportsman.

Impressive how you handled yourself.   Good way to show the shanty the best way to handle these things.

I must give credit where credit is due. Kivva king has taught me to be more patient and less impulsive over the years. Stuff like that is just not worth it. He's a good ice fishing mentor. I coulda popped that guys head off like a dandelion.

I also applaud your patience and acknowledge that ,in this society, you did the right thing.Personally, I do not possess such grace under pressure.I am fairly certain that I would have told the guy ,I was going to kick his ass because he assaulted me with his snowblower and I am defending myself. Then I would call the cops and the EPO,whose number is on speed dial thanks to this forum and he can explain why his snowblower is on the ice to them,if he could still talk.

Geeze.  Some people just want everyone else to suffer cuz their lives are miserable.  Glad it worked out for you in the end though.  Many times, these thing escalate out of control or nothing happens at all.  I have a feeling he probably did this before and got away with it.  Maybe he'll think twice from now on.

I would have LOVED to see that jackass's face when he got that $500 fine. I would have taken a picture and saved it as the background of my computer.

That guy is over $600 bucks in the hole for harassing you for the high crime and misdemeanor of ICE FISHING WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION!

Good for you for doing the right thing. The Hunter (and fisherman and trapper) Harassment laws are there for a reason. When you know the rules you'll always win. I'm glad to here that this guy got what he deserved.

Unfortunately the snowblower probably suffered only a broken shear pin. $1.75.

Hey, the good guys win for once.  It really is ridiculous how people think they can lay claim to public property.  I hear it all the time during hunting season too how people claim they "Own" a spot of public property b/c they've hunted there in the past.

Good for you for keeping your cool.  I would like to think that I could follow your example, but I think the cops would have found two feet sticking up from one of my holes by the time they got there.
