WOW!!!  That is a fish of a lifetime there!  :o

Congrats Bmac!  Now make sure you keep that particular spot a secret so that you can find another one - don't worry, you can send me a PM with the GPS coordinates...  ;)

after reviewing your catch and reviewing all applical laws governing hog perch and i quote"

"You must have at least twenty years of experience ice fishing before you are permited to target any perch larger than six inches at any time"

If you do target those fish  and catch one you will be looked upon as Lucky as hell

man that thing is a slob.

You got me beat and i used to get a lot of big perch in your area when i used to live in montgmery  I have only seen two other perch in person that big, actually one was exactly that big, in your area but it came from a lake close to Lycoming county.

I did have it weighed at an official station but can't count it because I caught it in a private pond. Hard to tell whats in this pond because it's adjacent to the Susquehanna river so it gets flooded with high water.

Were you registered for the IS tourney? 16 1/4'' would put you in the lead in the perch category.

When I saw this, the first thing I thought was "Private pond"!  No kidding and the first ponds I thought of are the ones between the river and Route 220 north bound  ::) 2 of them to be exact! They been flooded many times and have had real nice fish caught from them before so I hear. I drive past them every day and always drool, although I know other guys that have fished them, I never have. Ponds are almost always harboring something, and overlooked a lot.

That's a real hog.  There's big ones in the river too we used to catch them in April on worms and nightcrawlers.
