I posted these in a couple of other forums on this board. This might help some of you that are without ice.....Or it might drive you over the edge.  ;) The Hali was tipped with waxworms and most of the fish were not agressive. I caught about 80 perch out of this one hole in under 3 hours. If it were not for the camera, I would not have caught even 1/4 of them. With the camera I knew exactly when to set the hook and how to work the jig. The camera is a Marcum VS500.

These are big files (3mb+ I think), so you may have to save them to view them depending on your connection.

Very cool. 

I don't have a camera so I'm wondering how hard it is to get and keep the camera lined up on your lure and bait?  I'm assuming it's easier to see your stuff in downviewing mode, yes?  Also, about how far was the camera from the bait in these vids and in what depth of water?  With average water clarity, what are some of the depth limitions that you face for camera use?

This has to be some of the best video footage I've seen yet using an underwater camera! 

How deep of water are you in?

i like how in the second part of the first video he was able to selectively hook the bigger perch, and keep the bait away from the smaller perch.

It was in about 8-10' of water. It was an overcast day and I did not need the light on the camera.

My VS500 has a motor arm where I can postion my camera where ever I want it. The new VS560 is a better concept with the motor and camera enclosed in one unit. I'm glad I went with Marcum over Aqua-Vu. I like the screen, package, options, and connections much better....JMO.

That is so neat!  I was watching the perch take in the bait and saying "Set it!  Set it!"  and you did, yanking the fish straight up like a rocket.  Couldn't help but laugh!

i have to agree, that was some of the best underwater cam footage i have ever seen. very clear and very entertaining... i love to actually see the jerk and the fish being pulled up quickly. his other buddies scoot off a few paces and just watch him disappear in their sky....lol  and not to soon after... they fall for the goodies as well and join their friends on the surface!

Thanks guys. I'm headed out today to try and get some more. I hope the water where I'm going is clear enough to get good video. The bay where I'm fishing today has 2 rivers feeding it and with the rain we had last week, it's a crap shoot.
