West Bass
« on: Jan 14, 2011, 03:50 PM »
Took the kids out for some trout fishing on West Bass.  Didn't do so great.  Two flags went off with no fish and one boot went down the hole.  The new Summit was great though lots of room!!!

It didn't look like to many people have been fishing there, Access was just two ruts.  Anyone else ever try that lake in the winter?

Might try out East Bass tomorrow anyone having luck out there at all?

I have never had much success in the winter on either of those lakes.  Post how you do on East Bass when you get back.

Good luck.

We didn't get set up as fast as we wanted but we lost track of flags going off, landed two pike, and a handfull of perch.  Hand on pike eat a 7" or less pike that didn't trip the tip-up was pretty funny to see it spit it out at the hole.  I wanted to reach down and grab it to see how long it was; the head took up 70% of a 6" hole.  Going to make another trip out again as soon as possible.

Sounds like a good outing.  Thanks for the report.
